Enum - GaugeReadingMode

Key: enum.gaugeReadingMode

Defines the shape of the raw values a gauge records, which in turn determines how the system derives Consumption from them: cumulative meter states (absolute values since installation or last reset), period deltas (consumption over a defined interval without knowledge of the absolute meter state), or average rates (e.g. average power over the interval, to be multiplied by interval duration rather than subtracted or read directly). Cumulative gauges produce consumption as the delta between two consecutive readings; delta gauges write consumption directly from the declared period value; average-rate gauges write consumption as value × interval duration. In the reading entity, this concept is modelled as a per-reading dimension (format), not a fixed gauge-level attribute.

Values

ValueDescription
cumulativeEach reading records the absolute meter state (total since installation or last reset). Consumption is derived as R2 − R1 between two consecutive readings and distributed into 15-minute slots. Typical sources: remote DO devices (15-min), manual meter readings.
deltaEach reading records the consumption over a declared period without knowledge of the absolute meter state. The declared value is distributed into 15-minute slots across the period — proportionally if readings from another source exist, otherwise evenly. Typical sources: invoice import, some remote delta devices.
averageEach reading records an average rate over the interval (e.g. average power in kW over a 15-minute window), not an accumulated total or a delta. Consumption is derived by multiplying the reading value by the interval duration (consumption = value × interval length) and written directly as one 15-minute Consumption record — no distribution or subtraction is involved. Typical sources: remote power-only measurement points with no separate energy channel.
