Key: enum.gaugeMedium

Identifies what physically flows through the gauge — the energy medium being measured. Medium is a property of the gauge (constant for its lifetime, immutable after creation) and maps to DLMS/COSEM OBIS group A. It is distinct from the type dimension on Readings (energy / power / temperature…) which describes the physical quantity being measured. KVP gauges (Indoor Environment Quality) use medium = kvp; their direction is always null and they never contribute to building totals. Although KVP is not an energy medium in the physical sense, an explicit enum value is preferred over null. Null as a discriminator would become ambiguous as further non-energy meter types are added in the future.

Values

Value	Description
electricity	Electrical energy. Maps to OBIS group A = 1. Examples: electrometer, 4Q meter, FVE production meter.
gas	Natural gas. Maps to OBIS group A = 7. Example: gas meter.
water	Water. Maps to OBIS group A = 8. Examples: water meter, flow meter.
heat	Thermal energy. Maps to OBIS group A = 6. Example: heat meter (měřič tepla / heat meter).
fuel	Solid or liquid fuel for stationary heating purposes (coal, wood, heating oil, diesel for generator). No OBIS standard code. Relevant parameters: quantity, date, location. Example: fuel meter on a diesel generator.
phm	Pohonné hmoty — vehicle fuels (petrol, diesel). Distinct from fuel because relevant parameters differ: VIN code, vehicle, driver. The gauge detail form is different from fuel. No OBIS standard code. Example: fleet refuelling record.
kvp	Indoor Environment Quality (kvalita vnitřního prostředí / indoor environment quality). Covers temperature, humidity and CO₂ sensors. No energy medium — direction is always null. No OBIS standard code.
otherSensor	Generic sensor reading with no fixed set of measured parameters, distinct from kvp. Typically linked to building automation MaR (measurement and regulation) systems.
